If you own forested land in the State of Michigan there are several different programs available for you to take advantage of. There are programs to help you reduce your property taxes, programs to provide you with technical assistance, and programs which provide funding for projects such as tree plantings or getting a forest management plan written. Click on one of the links to the right to explore these programs some more.
Want to save on your property taxes? Active timber management based on a forest management plan can give you a significant reduction. Contact us for information about the QUALIFIED FOREST PROGRAM (QFP) or the COMMERCIAL FOREST PROGRAM.
For many forestry practices, including getting a Forest Management Plan, the USDA, NRCS office can offer you cost-sharing assistance through a program called EQIP.
Want preferential access to forest management funding? There is a new program within MAEAP that is for forest landowners!
Care about your woods? The TREE FARM program is geared towards good forest stewards that are taking care of their forestland for the future.
