The Wexford Conservation District got its start partnering with the USDA- Natural Resources Conservation Service (formerly the Soil Conservation Service)  in assisting farmers with addressing the severe soil erosion of the Dust Bowl days.  Together, the District and the USDA-NRCS now assist agricultural producers on an wide variety of environmental issues such as:
  • Soil Conservation
  • Irrigation Scheduling & Management
  • Manure Management
  • Comprehensive Nutrient Management
  • Windbreaks
  • Agrichemical Handling Facilities
  • Pasture Management

If you would like assistance in any of these areas, please contact our office, and we would be happy to assist you.   More information about programs offered by the USDA-NRCS in Michigan can be found on their website.
