Many items that are useful in organic gardening are available locally - flats for starting your own seedlings, compost, seed staring mediums, etc. have all been available in Cadillac in previous years.   In February, the District staff will visit Wexford County businesses, compile a list of what's available locally in 2012, and publish it here.

On the other hand - many things such as floating row cover to protect crops from insects, and soil amendments (azomite, feather meal, etc.) have not been available in Wexford County in the past.   If you are interested in learning more about products useful in organic growing, come to the Organic Products Workshopon Wednesday, April 25 at 6:30 p.m. at the District office.  As part of this workshop, you will have the opportunity to be part of a group order that will be delivered to the District office.  By combining with other people, you will be able to obtain bulk pricing and save on shipping!  Bring your checkbook with you, and you'll be able to place your order that evening.
